SG-1: Flight Lessons

"Mitchell?" Her voice was tense as he frowned at the readout. "You realize I haven't flown anything since that crop duster when I was maybe twelve, right? I crashed that, and broke my collarbone and my leg." She frowned at his quiet chuckle. "We stole a spaceship."

"Correction," he said dryly. "You stole a spaceship, Doctor. And now we're going to learn how to fly it."

"You're crazy!" She half glanced at him, squeezing her fingers around the flight controls.

"Hey, hey, stop tensing," he said calmly. "You didn't crash getting me out of there, did you?" She shook her head and he squeezed her shoulder. "Then you're not gonna crash now. I'd take over, but I'm pretty sure you can handle space. Besides, there's nothin out here but a whole lotta nothin right now."

"I know you promised to teach me how to fly, but..."

"But what? You're flying!"

"Oh my God," she breathed, "we have company." Lam jabbed a finger at the screen and there was an awkward moment where they were all limbs before they'd switched places. "You owe me dinner," she muttered.

"If I survive the General, I might just take you out," he said as he jammed the accelerator forward and opened a hyperspace window. Lam clung to the back of the chair, gritting her teeth.

"This better include pie," she muttered.

"I will make you pie," he said.
